S. Tamer Cavusgil is Fuller E. Callaway Professorial Chair and Executive Director, CIBER, Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.
Tamer specializes in the internationalization of the firm, global strategy, emerging markets, and buyer-seller relationships in cross-border business. Tamer s professional career spans teaching, research and administrative responsibilities in international business at Michigan State University, Bradley University, University of Wisconsin, and the Middle East Technical University (Turkey). Tamer has authored more than a dozen books and over 190 refereed journal articles. His work is among the most cited contributions in international business. His books include "International Business: The New Realities", 2nd Ed., co-authored with G. Knight and J. Riesenberger. Tamer holds MBA and Ph.D. degrees in business from the University of Wisconsin.

Less Information Than Expected

While the content in the book itself is fairly good, I was a little bit disappointed with the size of the book. I was expecting a fairly large business textbook, but really it's more like a 300 page novel. Not in the sense that it's a story, the content is still very much a textbook, but it's quite small and short. When it arrived in the mail I felt a bit ripped off, since I had paid $61 for the book at the time.
The content itself is fairly good. It contains economics, business ethics, risks, legal information, and pretty much anything else for a basic understanding of how to conduct a business internationally. Important words are emphasized (both in text and with descriptive definitions in the back) and the additional info graphics and side notes are actually fairly informative. Unfortunately, they are all in black and white which can sometimes be difficult to comprehend, especially with graphs containing various shades of gray. I think the summaries are well done, and are great for a last minute cram before a quiz. There are no practice problems in the book though, so it can be difficult to test your understanding. The chapters aren't tediously long though, which is nice.
I believe there are video modules for teachers, though we have only seen a few in class, they were very helpful in relating content to real world situations and were entertaining.
