The worst DSA book ever written!

This is one of the dozens of Data Structures and Algorithms books in the market and till now the worst I've ever seen. I have taken two DSA courses in my undergrad years, and now as a grad, I'm TAing that course.

The theoretical treatment of the book is superficial and too childish. Yet, there's too little practical value. They discuss the unnecessary linked list implementations of trees which is quite confusing for students. I am also amazed that they do not mention finding or removing an element in a BST. And, more importantly there's too little discussion of graphs.

I don't understand those professors trying to bog down students with useless details and complicated C++ codes. Rather, they should give the intuition and the theory behind the data structures and algorithms. Weiss' book is much better than this one. But, even that is obsessed with doing tricky things with C++.

Anyway, to sum up: This book is a garbage. Stay away unless it's required for the course you're taking in case you may need to do homeworks and such.

terrible book, incomplete examples, very confusing

As a graduate student and a teacher's assistant to the Data Structures course at U of Iowa, I found this book to be a terrible choice, it has incomplete and very breif examples that just leave the students confused...and for future note, the following semester the text was changed...

I would give it 0 stars if I could

This is a very frustrating book. The writing is horrible, there are no sample exercises in the book so when you go to do an assignment from the exercises, there is no example of how to approach the problem. There is a "hint database" on their online website that gives you one line of how to approach a problem, but even that is hit or miss and can make things even more confusing. In short, I didn't learn any more about data structures than I didn't already know from my previous courses.

If you are looking for a book that explains things in a much better format, look for the Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis in C++ by Weiss. It explains things so much better.

Don't waste your money on this, and if you have to buy it for a class, definitely buy used. I'm selling mine back to the school bookstore!!

Solid content, spotty form

The content is comprehensive, timely, and accurate (I say this from the perspectives of both a former HRM executive and a university professor). In fact, a professor could probably use this textbook to teach an employee staffing course even to students who have not had an introductory HRM course as a prerequisite. Summary tables and figures in each chapter are very useful for focusing classroom discussion.

The proofreading and copy editing were apparently poor for this textbook, so users have to overlook misused pronouns, a few badly broken sentences, many infinitives split with unnecessary adverbs, and so on. Here's an example on page 257: "Personality tests are easy to use, but applicants often react to poorly to them" (what's an extra "to" here and there?). The one that convinced me Pearson and the authors used interns and undergraduates to write some of the book is this gem on page 334: "Becoming a doctor is often sequential, whereas becoming a manger is often random." Becoming a manger--a hay box for cattle and horses--sounds painful. Granted, undergraduate and MBA students have written about mangers for years and found such sloppy spelling (and the sloppy proofreading that permits it to stay in text) is wrong, but Pearson permits this stuff in its textbooks now.

Fine Book but Not What I Was Expecting Content Wise

Decent book showing concept art for the stages, cut scenes and character costumes for both SF4 and Super Street fighter 4 with a page for the new arcade edition as well.

Not very much and was hoping for more. Some sketch work for each character. A few pages for the promotional posters, some scraped character ideas, some concept images for the roster. Most interesting is the 3 pages showing concept art for what Hakan and Juri might have looked like. They made a concept for a cyborg version of almost every character too lol.

Book is limited and def doesn't have the size content like the other official Capcom books but it was alright. 25$ is and okay price for this but not the retail. Better books for that kind of money.

Another Street Fighter Art Book

You'll see the character splash art as well as concept sketches of different costumes. Some characters have more coverage than others. Other materials included are the ending animation screenshots, background designs, some ads designs of characters selling food, storyboards and an interview with the producer.

This book is not as good as the few Street Fighter art books before, namely SF20: The Art of Street Fighter and the fan art book Street Fighter Tribute. If you don't want to get all the Street Fighter books, I would recommend SF20 and the refreshing Street Fighter Tribute, both at 320 pages.

Street Fighter character concept designs don't really vary too much. The characters are already designed, so design variations are going to be minor. I fear that might be the same for Street Fighter V.

As with Udon books, I would pay special attention to the binding. Mine seems alright at the moment. The book's a 176 page paperback.

Great For Street Fighter Fans...

Some people collect stamps, coins, baseball cards or comic books. I don't do that. Instead, I collect all the best art books. To be honest, this really isn't the best Street Fighter art book I've seen but it's still great in its own way. Most of the artwork in this book can be found online on Google. However, I still enjoyed this book because it does still include pictures that cannot be found online. Some people will not enjoy this book so I would recommend this to only die hard Street Fighter fans like myself.

I also own almost all the other Udon Entertainment art books and I would like to take the time to recommend them all. In my opinion Udon is just the best of the best. I don't work for them. I don't get paid by them. I'm just a fan of their art books.

The most comprehensive text available on the subject

Amazing is the only way to describe the wide range of vegetables covered in this book. It is an excellent reference and well worth the price. I have not seen any other book that covers the botany, physiology and production of so many vegetables so well. Dr. Rubatzky has just recently retired from UC Davis to spend more time with his family. We will all miss his presence on campus; hopefully, he will continue to find the time to write.

Absolutely delightful!

SAY YOU’LL LOVE ME is an utter delight: it successfully combines a captivating mystery and an enchanting love story, and fabulous characters. It is the evening of the betrothal ball for Robert Wrexham, Viscount Hinsdale, and Lady Abigail Hurst. They have been promised to each other since they were children, they have known each other forever, but Robert has been away and travelled for several years and he’s changed. While on her way to the retiring room, Abigail sees a man groping a woman who seems rather distraught, and to Abigail’s dismay, it’s Robert and a Wrexham House maid. The following day, the maid is discovered floating on the Thames; she’s been murdered. Abigail and her friends Henrietta and Georgina, sisters to the Marquess of Loncroft, Edmund Townsend, decide to investigate the matter and prove Robert’s innocence, but to do so, they will need Edmund’s assistance. Edmund has always been too occupied with his science and mathematics, but still Abigail’s loveliness does not escape him…

I absolutely adored SAY YOU’LL LOVE ME! Ally Broadfield has crafted a story where mystery and romance are perfectly intertwined. The tone is exemplary, the prose unpretentious yet elegant, effective and flowing, and the dialogues are spot-on. There is not one little clich� nor a word out of place to be found anywhere. The characters are very engaging, well fleshed-out, and every little detail serves a purpose; I was completely taken in by the atmosphere created by the author. The relationship between Edmund and Abigail is compelling, and absolutely lovely.

Ally Broadfield was a new author to me, and SAY YOU’LL LOVE ME was an extremely pleasant surprise; I will definitely be looking forward to further books from this author!

Ally Broadfield presents readers with a beautiful traditional Regency romance. Abigail Hurst is a lovely heroine whom I couldn't help but want to see get her happy ending. She is a good friend and solid daughter and when she becomes embroiled in a scandal she stays strong. Edmund Townsend is a man more comfortable in his study than in the ballroom but when his sister's friend needs him he doesn't hesitate to help and it proves just what a good man he is. His love for his sister's just made him all the more attractive. This couple appealed to me from the very beginning and I couldn't stop reading until the end to see if everything would work out. The mystery in this story was entertaining and intriguing. The setting a practical character all its own, as it was a solid presence but the details were not overpowering. I'm looking forward to reading the adventures of some more of the people I was lucky enough to meet in this story. If you're a fan of the traditional Regency historical I highly recommend this one.

Fun read

Abigail is engaged to Robert but she discovers he has a mistress who has been murdered. To show support for him and his family, she continues the engagement. She also wants to know if Robert is guilty so she asks her friend Georgiana to help her find the truth. They ask Georgiana's brother Edmund for his help since he is of a scientific mind.

I loved this book. Abigail and Edmund are wonderful characters and made for each other. I liked that while this is an historical romance it is also a mystery. Instead of Edmund trying to talk her out of discovering if her fianc� is a murderer, he helps to find out the truth. I liked Abigail's strength of character. Edmund did not question her as they investigates the murder.

The secondary characters were good. I liked Edmund's sister Georgiana who is Abigail's best friend. There is often a subtle humor when Georgiana is present. It was enjoyable to see that the servants seemed to value discretion over gossip. There was enough gossip going around the ton. I also liked that family of the murder victim appeared in the story and were not bought off or thrown to the side in their grief. I liked the respect shown to them by Edmund and Abigail.

The story was well done. It kept my attention. I had to finish it before I went to bed. This was one of the best stories I have read. I want to read more of Ms. Broadfield. I hope that Georgiana and Henrietta, her widowed sister, get their own stories.
